San Diego Midwife® is a comprehensive midwifery practice
providing a wide range of midwifery services for both home and hospital
birth mothers across San Diego County. We specialize in VBACs (vaginal
birth after cesarean), home births and water births. San Diego Midwife
also provides a wide range of other services including child birth classes,
lactation coaching and support services, herbal/homeopathic counseling,
in-home postpartum and newborn care, doula and monitrice services and
much, much more.
San Diego Midwife was founded by La Shel Montgomery and Jamin Sylvada in September 2005. Jamin and La Shel have delivered nearly one thousand babies in a variety of settings including busy hospitals, birth centers and private homes. Their shared philosophies and energy combined with their own unique abilities and vast experience in all aspects of birth makes San Diego Midwife perfect for anyone considering hiring a midwife, doula or monitrice to guide, assist and nurture them through pregnancy and birth.
We view child birth as a natural event and not a medical emergency. Having a child is a transformative experience, a journey that calls for particular attention to mind-body-spirit harmony.
