At San Diego Midwife, we believe in the natural process of pregnancy and birth while embracing the benefits of modern medicine and evidence-based care. Our holistic approach brings together traditional midwifery wisdom, current medical knowledge, and a deep respect for the connection between mind, body, and spirit.
Serving families throughout San Diego County, we provide personalized prenatal care, home birth and water birth services, VBAC support, and postpartum and newborn care. Our services also include childbirth education, breastfeeding support, and doula and monitrice care.
We see pregnancy and birth as a natural and transformative journey, not an illness. We trust in the body's ability to give birth while carefully monitoring the health and well-being of both mother and baby. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where families feel heard, respected, and confident in their choices.
Our Services

Prenatal Care
We provide complete prenatal care throughout your pregnancy. Studies have shown that the more you know and trust your midwife or caregiver, the better prepared you’ll be for labor.

Labor and Delivery
Your midwife arrives once active labor begins (or sooner if you’d like her by your side beforehand). At your home, she will monitor your vital signs, the progress of labor, the baby’s heartbeat, and general well-being.

Childbirth Classes
Our childbirth education classes, in person or online, are exclusively led by midwives. We will discuss proper nutrition for a healthy pregnancy, trust in birth, risk and benefits of pain medication, birth plans, understanding and coping with labor, the postpartum period and much more.

Waterbirth
More and more women are discovering how wonderful a bath of warm water can be during labor and birth. Relaxing in warm water to relieve discomfort has been used for everything from backaches and other sore muscles to stress and menstrual pain.

Postpartum Care
Postpartum care includes home visits on the first and third days after the birth and office visits and phone consultations as needed until a final check up at six weeks postpartum. Your midwife is on-call for you during this period and if you need additional care beyond six weeks, we have an open-door policy!
